What this tool does
Opening and closing checks are part of our daily kitchen routine. They help us make sure the section is ready and nothing important is left behind. The Excel file comes with example checklist items that you can change to suit your kitchen. The printable PDF is blank so you can write your own checks. If something is wrong, mark it as an Issue and record what happened. The next shift should know if the problem has been fixed or still needs attention.
What’s included
- Editable Excel file with 12 Opening and 12 Closing checklist items
- Blank printable PDF for writing your own checks
- Status: Pass / Issue / N/A
- Follow-up: Fixed / Reported / Open
- Space for remarks and shift handover notes
- A completed example on the Excel Opening sheet
How to use it

Step 2. Go through each check before service and again before leaving.
Step 3. If you find a problem, mark Issue. Write a short remark and record what you did about it.
Step 4. Ask your chef to review and sign the checklist. Keep a copy for your records.
